2010

2010. I look back on these last twelve months as times of change. No longer do I feel so cautious and concerned with whatever is happening. It is a liberating feeling when you can place yourself in a position of control. Living out of a suitcase for 6 weeks was the best remedy to remind myself that there are different perspectives and so much more to what really is an enclosed core that I have in Adelaide. Having said that, I always do appreciate everyone and everything that is within such home.

I scanned over thousands of photos before compiling my overview of the year. What a crazy year. I feel like it was just yesterday we had the Fleshpot Playlist on go ready for the New Year - but having flicked over so many photos, so much really has happened. Some exhilarating, some life-changing, and some just downright obscene. I'm still in a rather reflective mode, which I'm sure will continue at the beach with friends and seventeen gin mixes. I think personally, it was a successful year. As for the upcoming year, I'm going to leave my expectations for 2011 open. Whatever happens, happens. Bring it.

We started off the year with Sunroom danceoff...

Ali took us out for a night of tennis and indulgence...

There was some Mario Kart involved...

We eagerly awaited for the Fringe to kick in...

McQueen. Bless.

Andre came to town...

and ate so many meals at E-Shan. What's this Mr. Chow's business???

Household cooking parties occurred...

...just before Georgia & Harry also turned 23.

The dividing gap of the year. Eleanor and I left Australia and visited the Petronas Towers...

...before hitting up galleries, markets, department stores in London.

We also discovered the most amazing cider. Ever.

Then flew over to Stockholm, ...

... where we pretty much participated in all kinds of eating, cycling and of course, drinking.

Next stop was Copenhagen DENMARK, via Malmo. Secret warehouse street art battle party? Free beer? We're there.

In Copenhagen, we ate lots of thai, desserts and drank on the streets. Amazing.

Next stop, Amsterdam. Charming, historical, walking city!

In Antwerp, I learnt to appreciate black because of:

After 5 weeks of travelling, it all ended in Paris where we had our own apartment, shopped at decadent department stores and pretended to be Marie Antoinette.

HOME. We certainly missed our friends.

DINDINS. Before heading over to Farrant Street Housewarming...

and a post-party "surprise" pizza party.

Eleanor M. left the country soon after, but not before everyone was in the country to farewell her. One of my favourite photos.

Kat threw a bangin' party.

Eleanor, Lily, Alistair and I went and saw Foals play their first Australian tour.

Winter saw the first of many Simon & the girls nights. Where was everyone again!?

Inappropriate midweek buzz ons became terrifyingly frequent.

Anouvong went Ivy League.

Simon and the girls night 2. DEPARTURE. Bambino cones. Yes, please.

Eleanor also turned 23.

SquareOne was needed after whatever that federal election was. Disastuh.

Goodbye Winter, hello Spring.

I don't even know. I miss you both.

DAS turned 1.

Major Trio action went down.

French Play week. Don't actually think we were supposed to exist after this.

If there was ever a time to back it up, THIS. Elz & Will's Farewell for UK.

FIZZER SquareONE.

We danced to Shania & Alanis with Hannah. 90s.

Joseph also turned 21. Botanic Bar ran out of beer?

INSERT HOUSE CHANGING MOMENT:

Tim turned 23.

Partied with DJs crew.

Christmas sprung up on us...

AND THAT'S HOW I SPENT MY YEAR. 2010. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
